The Colombian Geological Survey (SGC) is a science and technology institution belonging to the Mines and Energy Ministry and is responsible for producing and managing the geoscientific information of Colombia.
The SGC is committed to the social and economic development of the country, through: Basic research in geosciences, Research of the potential of subsoil resources (Minerals, Hydrocarbons, Groundwater, Geothermics), Research, evaluation and monitoring of geohazards, and Research and application of nuclear technology, Comprehensive management of the geoscientist knowledge of the national territory and; Research and analysis of laboratory.
